Description

Stunning Huichol beaded mask.  This piece is approximately 10 inches wide and 10 3/4 inches tall.  Its depth is approximately 5 1/2 inches.  This piece is from an older collection and is very unique in its design.

These masks are hand carved out of wood and then hand beaded.  The carved mask is covered in beeswax and each bead is pressed into the wax, one by one.

Huichol masks reflect the patterns of face paintings worn during sacred ceremonies.
