Description
The common sunstar can be found on rocky bottoms, as well as in coarse sand and gravel, and seems to prefer areas of high water movement. Very small sunstars are sometimes found in rock pools.
The common sunstar is an omnivore. It will eat almost anything, including smaller starfish and sunstars, and swallows its prey whole.
This specimen is approximately 5 inches by 5 inches.
