Description
Bismuth has a low melting point of about 520°F. As bismuth solidifies, it expands to form crystals. Artificially grown bismuth crystals form a spiral staircase or Greek key-like structure. The more slowly the bismuth cools, the larger the crystals.
Bismuth metal is naturally white-silver in color. However, upon oxidation, bismuth crystals manifest themselves in beautiful rainbow colors. The quality of the bismuth crystal depends on the purity of the bismuth metal.
