Description
The Textile cone shell is also known as the cloth of gold cone shell. As with most cone shells, they are carnivorous and predatory, preying on other mollusks. In order to quickly disable their prey, they have evolved a specialized dart-like tooth, which is similar to a tongue.
The Textile Cone shell (along with the Geographic Cone) is one of the most venomous creatures on earth, and has been responsible for numerous fatalities across the world. Most fatalities occur when the shell is stepped on or handled.
