Description
Canada Lynx skull, real bone. This skull is approximately 5" long.
A lynx is any of the four species (Canada lynx, Iberian lynx, Eurasian lynx, Bobcat) within the medium-sized wild at genus Lynx. The name lynx originated via Latin from the Greek word λύγξ, derived from the Indo-European root leuk- ('light, brightness') in reference to the luminescence of its reflective eyes. The lynx is a solitary cat that roams the northern forests of North America, Europe, and Asia. Lynx are covered with a beautiful thick fur that keeps them warm during freezing winters, and their large, furry paws hit the ground with a spreading toe motion that makes them function as natural snowshoes.
