Description
Marine Lizard, Igdamanosaurus mosasaur, 2 teeth on a partial jaw fragment. Approximately 66 to 71 million years ago.
This genus, Igdamanosaurus (which was previously called Globidens), had acorn, or mushroom-shaped teeth as opposed to other Mosasaurs which had pointed teeth. These “spherical” teeth were incredibly efficient at crushing the Mosasaur’s prey.
Does not come with the stand shown, but we do sell a large variety of stands.
The Oulad Abdoun Basin of Morocco contains an extremely large phosphate deposit. Mining for phosphate, fossils such as these are sometimes found.
