Description
These prehistoric, agatized, fossilized coral specimens are found in ancient ocean beds, where silica rich groundwater has percolated through them, and over time, has replaced the calcium carbonate skeleton with a hard variety of chalcedony. The various colors are due to deposition of trace minerals. This often leaves the fossil looking like banded stone, and creates gorgeous specimens that are cave-like in appearance.
These specimens are around 25 to 38 million years old and are authentic and natural with no alterations to their color.
This particular pair is approximately 2 7/8 inches wide and including the stand, 4 3/4 inches tall. You will receive these exact specimens. The price listed is for the pair.
natur showroom carries other agatized coral specimens in different sizes, colors and price ranges. We are happy to send photos of other pairs.
