Description

Trilobites are hard-shelled, segmented creatures that lived hundreds of millions of years ago in the Earth’s ancient seas.  They are considered to be one of the planet’s earliest life-forms.  Trilobites were extinct before the emergence of the dinosaurs. 

Trilobites have been called the “butterflies of the ancient seas” for their exotic, graceful beauty.  The sheer number of different species and their enormous diversity in size and anatomy, make them an incredibly fascinating creature.   natur showroom sells several different varieties and sizes of trilobites.  This is a Trilobite fossil, Calymene species, from Morocco.  These are approximately 450-500 million years old.

Approximate dimensions:  The specimen shown is 2 1/2 inches high by 2 3/8 inches wide, but they will vary from specimen to specimen.
