Description
Amazing warthog skull, real bone. This particular specimen is approximately 13 1/4 inches long and 8 3/4 inches high. The skull width is 8 1/4 inches. The tusks are 13 1/2 inches at their widest point and the distance from inside tip to tip is approximately 11.5 inches.
We have assigned this particular warthog warrior status, due to his worn tusk. Because the tusk is worn smooth, this clearly happened during his lifetime.
Although covered in bristly hairs, warthog bodies and heads appear largely naked from a distance, with only the crest along the back, and the tufts on their cheeks and tails being hairy. Warthogs have very distinct tusks, which reach a length of 10 to 25 inches in males, but are always smaller in females. Warthogs are largely herbivores, but occasionally will also eat small animals.
