Description
This yellow carpenter bee has been suspended between 2 transparent and very flexible membranes, which are encased in a black, plastic frame that opens like a book. The black base not only supports the frame, but also serves to lock the frame shut. The carpenter bee is visible from both sides.
Carpenter bees are one of the largest species of bees in the United States. They look fairly similar to bumblebees and are often mistaken for them. Like bumblebees, carpenter bees help pollinate plants, particularly flowers and vegetables.
This frame is approximately 3 3/4 inches tall (including the base) and 3 5/8 inches wide.
